Who Is Sonnenbloom Boutique?

At Sonnenbloom, each reworked denim garment begins with a carefully chosen thrifted piece, selected with intention and a vision for its transformation.

I seek out hippie-chic styles that can be infused with new life and flair. Using primarily thrifted fabrics and threads, I build collections around the unique materials, I discover, often laying them out on the floor to experiment and play with ideas.

This hands-on approach allows each jacket to come to life organically, resulting in one-of-a-kind pieces that embody creativity, sustainability, and individuality.

What Does Sonnenbloom Mean?

Sonnenbloom comes from the German word for sunflower, sonnenblume. To me, the sunflower is a symbol of strength, loyalty, and honesty.

It grows tall, always turning toward the sun that provides light and support. With confidence, it holds its head high, embracing its uniqueness.

But just as importantly, the sunflower knows when to rest—it understands that light cannot exist without darkness.

This balance, resilience, and authenticity are at the heart of Sonnenbloom Boutique.

Meet The Maker

Hi friends! I'm Darian—the maker, owner, designer, and all-around heart behind Sonnenbloom Boutique.

I started my first business, Knitting By Darian, in 2016, crafting high-quality knitwear. As my skills in designing and sewing grew, I realized it was time to evolve into a brand that truly reflects who I am while building a community through collaborations and one-of-a-kind pieces.

That’s how Sonnenbloom was born: a space where creativity, sustainability, and personal expression come together.
Sewing has been a part of my life since 2019, a skill I was lucky enough to learn from my mom, who has been sewing for over 40 years. She made my prom dresses, my wedding dress, and—without a doubt—helped shape my passion for handmade artistry.

When I’m not creating, you can usually find me coloring, baking sourdough bread, or getting competitive on the pickleball court.

But my true oxygen? Live music. There’s nothing like watching artists do what they love, feeling the energy of a crowd, and dancing the night away.

Some of my favorite bands and artists include Goose, The Grateful Dead, Chappell Roan, and Eggy.
